New Idea~

At our family Christmas party my sister in law had this darling snowman topper on the back of her sofa. The thought of that kept pulling at me!
As if I don't have enough to do all ready the thoughts just keeps running through my mind. So I started digging in my stash and am auditioning fabrics! I'm looking for a black plaid for a hat for one of the snowmen, a solid black hat won't show up with the back ground I'm thinking about using. My back ground is dark, after all snow people do not care much for sun, Right? I don't have any problem with the snowladies, so much fun! I think I really enjoy pulling fabric and starting new projects and oh does it show, as I've go so many UFO waiting to be completed. I love variety and work on several on and off. These are so cute and will cheer up any room for the holidays. I would like to make another one (some day maybe) using a different pattern for my guest room too, maybe in blues, Could be stars or flowers? Such a nice idea for a quite change.

My mother had a friend who's name was Bonny and her husband smoked a pipe.. I loved getting a Christmas card from her, she would draw a picture of a bunny and of a pipe with smoke curling from it.. Such sweet memories.

Purple Quilt ~

Yesterday I started on another quilt, a lady that belongs to our group asked me to quilt her quilt for her. I knew it was really large and felt maybe to large for me to handle? So when I stared I found it wasn't hard at all, but today I think I'm changing my mind! It's heavy and measured 104" X 98" so my whole sewing room is just about full of her quilt. I'm quilting it like she ask, I fill like I'm on a mary-go-round at times. I think this should be called "And Here We Go"

I'll post a picture of the whole quilt when I've completed it, until then this is what I get as it sets under my machine, on my cutting table and a small table to my right side and a drawer opened on my left side to support and keep it from hanging over the back or sides.. BIG VERY BIG QUILT!

Busy week for Crissie ~

This has really been a busy week, I not only caught a bad cold, But I had to go in all kinds of different directions ~ ~ ~

I had to purchase a new land phone and learn how to set it up.. my computer friend installed a new browser for me and it's wonderful.. So I'm still feeling my way around with that (tail spin there and still spinning)! Wanting to work on my UFO's but I've got quilts that ladies are waiting for. So I put all my energy forward and did a little of my UFO, put Christmas away and completed my friends quilt. I'm still learning and showing my husband the new bells and whistles on the new phone and still need to learn how to set up my Bookmarks in the new browser! This quilt is called Flight of Fancy, this is the second one I've quilted now. I've got to start a very large quilt and I'm worried it might be to large for me to handle??? I don't have a long arm my machine has a larger bed and that does help. My biggest concern is to make this lady happy!

I love the black birds and cherries, how perfect it that together ~

One of my baskets is getting closer to being completed.. Lucky me I've got several more to complete and I'm not one to work on just one project at a time, I've got several going but love it when the end results show up... That's so rewarding!

The start of a New Year ~

Today I started quilting on my friend Dianne's quilt


Here is the beginning Flight of Fancy .. I am really enjoying working on her quilt. It gives me a chance to play around with different patterns. My biggest concern is to make her happy with what I pick! That's always a big worry of mine ~
